Yes. Our internet plan only allows for one modem, which is downstairs. Wifi would be too unstable. Now I just need to figure out my stuttering issue in games lol.

What did you end up getting? I have an i5-8400 and a gtx 1070 and I get significant amounts of stuttering because of a CPU bottleneck.

Ok so I just ran CrystalDiskMark and my random read and write results look much worse than what people have gotten on the internet (about half). Could I have a failing SSD? Could that possibly be causing the stuttering? Here are my results: https://i.imgur.com/RDOsIG6.png
