I took the MOBO to tech support and they said they tested it with other CPUs and it worked fine; that's how I eventually found that the problem was the CPU.

The cpu had been working for about two years until now, and the whole system as it is now for about a year.

I tried a completely different PSU from another PC and the problem persisted, so this is discarded.

i know the psu is fine since it works in my back up pc. i cant test the integrated graphics, the pc doesnt start. my wall outlet is fine.

Yes, if i remove the gpu i still have the problem. the old gpu was a hd 6850 and the new one was a strix 1060 6gb. No, i didnt remount the cpu. i doblechecked and all power leads are ok.
