Have you checked to see if your ram is on the mobo's QVL? Sometimes the memory is not compatible. Go on the motherboards site and look for memory support.

When the ram is in the correct slots only half is being detected (I have four slots). However, the computer detects 16 when I put the sticks side to side. Also, a single stick should be able to boot on all slots but mine doesn't. Both sticks of ram works btw.

I set the memory speed to 2933mhz and it still won't detect the other 8GB.
