I know the i7 has a higher watt rating, but aren't the G1820 and 4790k coolers essentially the same in terms of RPM, fan size and base they plug into? Perhaps this belongs to the CPU section, since I am not looking to overclock right now.

If I take a G1820 stock cooler and put it over a 4790k, would it perform as a 4790k stock cooler? In other words, are the G1820 and 4790k stock coolers the same? Are stock coolers for 2 processors of the same socket identical?
