I think you have to have XP Pro to set up file sharing, but it could be wrong. Just right click over 'My Computer" and go to Properties and click the second tab that says "Computer Name". You should see something that says Workgroup ID or Workgroup name. You have to set it so both computers...

Maybe if your using a 32bit OS (okay who we kidding, windows). Then you get some addressing problems and may have to turn off the page file due to too much RAM. It says 4GB is the threshold for 32bit, but it seems to be 3GB as the sensitive amount.
