I've been doing some research and will now try resetting the bios. If it doesn't work, reflashing it.

Update: after plugging in via the USB-Sata adapter, now boots fine again. Some NVRAM or stuff got cleaned?

I am stunned! I have two drives exactly the same, I tested both and one shows 1% life left, BUT it WAS not the drive that was not letting the MB boot! It was the other one (the one I mentioned just above)! The one preventing the MB from booting works fine using an USB-Sata adapter and shows 94%...

While doing some testing, I removed all disks and tried an old windows disk. When loaded, windows went into update mode. As I couldn't care less about this system, hard reset it to avoid waiting, and removed the disk. Next motherboard would not boot. All disks removed and stuck on the logo...

SSD Wear Indicator =1 (!), with only 600 hours usage. How come?!

I think it's all that matter . :) It's the SSD disk. MB boots fine with other disks. Always learning, didn't know disks could do this. It's just over 2 years old, warranty is off. Thanks.

Help me solve this puzzle: Sata SSD plugged in - Power on: MB doesn't boot, stuck on logo. Power off. Sata SSD removed - Power on: still doesn't boot. Reset button. Sata SSD still removed - Boot now works. Power off. Sata SSD plugged in again - Power on: now boots fine again... however...

@seagate_surger Now I am starting to get worried. Today the disk didn't boot, and kept doing a mechanical repetitive noise. Then I changed SATA port and it worked. I just hope it was due to not enough power on that port?! What should I do next? Return it to Amazon?

Thanks seagate_surfer. It's the very low values for the random not sequential read and write test that worries me. But if you say it's fine, for me it's ok, as it's used as storage. What I really want is for it not to fail! That's why I bought that model, after checking Backblaze's reports. :)

Seatools says drive is healthy but doesn't measure speed. I notice sometimes it takes 4 to 8 seconds to open a very small text file, when first browsing a directory. Then (after directory is open) lag disappears. (I used it as storage) Is that Smart Read Rate normal for a drive that has only 80...

My solution worked!

Rebuilding pen with MBR partition instead, NTFS and fixes for old BIOSes. Let's see what happens...

Update: no idea what happened. only those files got corrupted. no more corrupted files since that event. really strange. maybe some abrupt power off?!

Are these values normal? Thanks a lot for any reply.
