I did it to simplify some basic storage needs. But I have a full backup of all my data on a 10TB external drive that I'm gonna use to make monthly backups with for this setup.

Well after playing around with it I changed the drive letter from M to E and now it shows up as one drive with the capacity of both.. go figure...

The two drives I spanned don't have anything on them. All my data is currently backed up on an external drive. I can't seem to be able to insert any screen shots on here..

I spanned two hard drives together using the windows 10 disk management program. Once it finished I can't find either of them listed unless I open the disk manager program back up and it shows them as spanned. I tried restarting the computer as well but no luck. It says they are dynamic rather...

Ahh ok well that makes sense then, thank you for your help! I'll probably do as you suggested keeping them separate. At some point I'll buy a NAS drive when I get some extra coin. (If there is such a thing). :unsure:

I have 3 4TB hard drives and 1 3TB hard drive for storage and I'll probably use a low storage capacity SSD for the OS.

BTW thanks for your help and input, and for now would you recommend a RAID 5 or something? I do understand it isn't the best for backup though.

It is pretty much all built. I just used some old hardware I had from previous computers. (minus the drives). I have a MSI 760GM-P33 mobo w/very low hours and use, AMD Athlon II X2 250 CPU, 8GB RAM, 600watt PSU, and a Cooler Master N200 case. I should add that I do plan to try and use this...

UPDATE I might be wrong it looks like it can mount some SSD's to the side of the case as well on the inside. But I guess what I'm looking for is space to mount some 3.5in HDD as I can't afford to buy all SSD's at the moment for the amount of storage sizes I need.

Well it's really 3 3.5in bays and 1 2.5in but the 3.5in ones can be used for 2.5in. unless I'm missing one of the mounting bay sections. (Got it used). But yes I am using them all right now as I use it as a storage server for videos and larger data files.
