Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

The issue disappeared after a reformat. I haven't had the issue after upgrading to Windows 8, either.

    ViewSonic VP930 Flashes Different Colours

I'm not sure if I actually hard-resetted it correctly. I could not find official instructions on how to perform a factory reset in neither the customer nor the service manual. As I said, it doesn't matter if it's connected to a PC or not, the behavior is still the same. I have a suspicion that...

    ViewSonic VP930 Flashes Different Colours

Hello! Out of the blue, my monitor started showing this behavior - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nefzdN8mpuU (the video in question is not mine, but the problem is the exact same). It does not matter if the monitor is connected by DVI or not, it flashes even while unplugged. While flashing...

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

Still haven't been able to solve this issue. I updated to JDK 7U5 x86 (made sure to completely uninstall 7U4 and used JavaRa), but the same problem remains.

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

How would I go about finding Java program and applet directories? I have already used the Java Control Panel to delete temporary files prior to completely uninstalling and re-installing Java but without any luck. By the way, local Java applications work just fine.

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

Just as I suspected - after a reboot, Java applets will no longer load in any browsers.

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

There were a ton of matches for "Java" under those registry nodes, and I did not really feel safe about removing them. Instead, I let the registry cleaner of CCleaner find all invalid registry entries for me and only removed those that referred to Java, not wanting to mess with anything else...

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

I'm using the latest version of Microsoft Security Essentials with updated definitions. Never had any conflicts between it and Java before. How would I go about manually hunting down program directories and registry entries? Searching for 'Java(TM) 6" or 'Java(TM) 7' in the registry returns no...

Java Hangs / Fails To Load In Any Browser

I'm running Windows 7 x64, JDK 7 U4 and the Java plugin just won't work correctly in any browser, be it IE9, Chrome 19, or Firefox 12. Both the Java installation and the browsers are 32-bit versions. The browsers simply hang or display nothing when a Java applet is supposed to load. I do Java...

    Backing Up Documents And Images

Actually, I recalled that I had a small 2.5 HDD just lying around that could be used in an external HDD enclosure. Anything to look out for when purchasing an HDD enclosure or does just about anything fly?

Getting rid of the first HDD

I'm not sure doing what you described is possible without formatting the newer drive. One possible way of doing it would be to create a new partition on the newer drive. Then, you could use cloning software and clone over the boot partition from the C partition to your newly made partition. You...

    Temperatures

Yup, SSD's generate very little heat compared to traditional HDD's. My C300 doesn't even feel warm to the touch after hours of use. I wouldn't imagine it running much above ambient.

    Backing Up Documents And Images

Hello I have ~12GB (and growing...) of documents and images that need to be backed up on a regular basis. I would like to do this as cheaply as possible and not have to pay any significant monthly fees for using an online service. The backup process should be as transparent and automated as...

    Is partitioning a bad idea?

It won't make any difference to performance or affect TRIM. Partitioning of an SSD won't physically split the areas that are written to - the wear leveling algorithms used by SSD's will prevent this, so there is no greater degradation of lifespan from partitioning. I considered doing the same...
