    How can i format my sony vaio

    Obviously you will not be able to format the hard disk whilst still booted into Windows (or any OS for that matter). Best way is to boot the device with a bootable CD/DVD/USB (WinPE/www.ubcd4win.com) and then do a format/re-partition of the hard disk.

    Computer crashing very often

    Try disabling the Auto restart upon system failure. To do this, when system boots, press F8 until you get the Windows boot menu, then turn off the Automatic restart on system failure. When the system crashes again, you might get a BSOD with Stop code. Alternatively, check if there were any...

    Installing Windows 7

    The bootable Win7 installation disk should load into memory (similar to a PE disk), then at the first stage of the setup, will format the HDD and copy the installation files, and setup continues. Have you tried using a different installation media?

    Monitor hibernates on start up works on another PC

    Could it be that the display card does not support the resolution of the monitor? Boot into safe mode, change the resolution to a lower setting (800x600 for a start), then boot into normal mode.

    Wmi group policy settings

    ensure that you have added the correct forest (if multiple forests in your domain). You must have administrative priveledges on the said machine which you want to modify. Why not just create a Group Policy Object (GPO) in your Active Directory Users and Computers...

    [SOLVED] Disabling cores->save energy?

    Doesn't the Optiplex 755 come with an onboard display? Why not get rid of the Radeon, and use the onboard (might save a few there). As for the PSU, I doubt that you would be able to fit a non-Dell PSU in there. PS: Apologies for the duplicate reply, Toms Forus are playing silly buggers again :-)

    Vista 32-bit to Windows 7 64-bit

    Format and reload! No way you can 'upgrade' for 32bit OS to 64bit OS, as the system platform is different.

    Multiple displays

    I doubt that you will. Most mobos disable the onboard display when an add-on display card is installed. Might want to have a look at the mobo manual to see if you are able use both, by settings in the BIOS. Cheers Leo

    Replacement for Dell XPS 420 Mobo

    One thing to keep in mind is that the Dell pre-build cases are 'backwards'. Thus, the mobo fit on the left side of the case, rather than the right side (when viewing the case from the front) as per standard mobo bought off the shelf. This way, Dell ensures that if you want to re-use the case...
