I am trying to install the windows 7 os 64bit to my laptop but everytime i load up my computer and boot it to cd/dvd i get the windows starting screen and everything turns blank and nothing loads.
Is it the Welcome log-in screen or the windows install screen?
If it is the windows install screen, wait up to 30 minutes, it may appear frozen, but it may be still installing, especially on the slower PC's or PC's with small amount of RAM.
Its right after i press any key to begin the installation and it says starting windows with the trademark microsoft symbol. After a while the screen just turns black with only a movable curser. Oh yeah i dont have anotehr os installed because prior to this installation i just failed the other one because the laptop battery ran out and the installation failed so im trying to do it again. I dont think it would be 30 minutes and i probably have waited over 30 minutes before.
but when you turn on your computer its not being transferred to the HDD yet. Arent you just taking out information from the cd, THEN you transfer it to HDD? Is this like a video card driver problem? I cant even turn on my computer because the hard drive got messed up in the installation so im not even sure how i am suppose to reformat it.
The bootable Win7 installation disk should load into memory (similar to a PE disk), then at the first stage of the setup, will format the HDD and copy the installation files, and setup continues. Have you tried using a different installation media?
yes i've used at least 2, so if it turns out like this the hdd is broken? oh yeah also when i run the hard drive instead of cd first it gives a disk read error occured press alt+ctrl+del to restart computer.
New Problem: I got pass the black screen, and im trying to install the os but the thing is, the computer is not detecting any hard drives. I dont know why after my failed installlation i cant find any hard drives to install the os on. Is it because the failed installation screwed up my hard drive and now it wont work? anyway to fix this? do i reformat and re partition the hard drive?
