Question Whistling Noctua fans - new case required?

The sound is at least somewhat dependent on RPM, since it doesn't happen on low RPM. It also only happens when they are installed, not when I simply put them on power outside the case, so I am pretty sure it's an interaction with the filters and/or holes in front of the fans.

Question Whistling Noctua fans - new case required?

I corrected some errors recently that had my Noctua NF-A14 fans running at about 20% in my Fractal Design Define R5 case. Since then, they sometimes produce a whistling sound depending on their speed. I tried to open the front door, remove the intake filters, manually closing some holes in...

[SOLVED] To deal with power problems like spikes - PSU with ATX 3.0 (Thermaltake) or higher wattage (Silverstone)?

Thanks, but it's not necessarily the connector, but the added security for power spikes that I want from ATX 3.0.

[SOLVED] To deal with power problems like spikes - PSU with ATX 3.0 (Thermaltake) or higher wattage (Silverstone)?

Thanks. The idle mode is actually not unimportant since the PC will spend a lot of time being used as an office PC, with the PSU presumably being bored to death. The Silverstone is only on the table because I get it for 40 € cheaper despite being a lot bigger, and I get it now instead of...

[SOLVED] To deal with power problems like spikes - PSU with ATX 3.0 (Thermaltake) or higher wattage (Silverstone)?

Okay, so basically: If I get an ATX 3.0, I should make sure it has a 12 pin connector. Both the PSUs I mentioned would be fine, the Toughpower because of ATX 3.0 + 12 pin connector, the Silverstone for simply being so big that any spike will still be below the 1650W threshold.

[SOLVED] To deal with power problems like spikes - PSU with ATX 3.0 (Thermaltake) or higher wattage (Silverstone)?

Do I understand that correctly, that the ATX 3.0 improved for spikes doesn't count for the connectors except the big one, so it's basically the same as the old standard for all other connectors? And how do I know how well a given PSU can handle those spikes? Can I look that up somehow? Because...

[SOLVED] To deal with power problems like spikes - PSU with ATX 3.0 (Thermaltake) or higher wattage (Silverstone)?

Background: when playing Greedfall and having the game autosave at certain points, my PC shuts down completely and can't be turned on again until I dis- and reconnect the power cable. I assume this is because my old 660W PSU can't deal with the power spike. And even if not, I think it's time to...

[SOLVED] Temps on current CPUs and if they're important for a SFF gaming PC

I am more afraid of temps in the mid-80s to be honest. My current laptop is sometimes warning me of temps above 90°, thus I try to minimize that problem.

[SOLVED] Temps on current CPUs and if they're important for a SFF gaming PC

Hm. Do you also use the cooler mentioned in the video, aka "be quiet! Pure Rock 2 FX"? And what temps do you usually get while gaming?

[SOLVED] Temps on current CPUs and if they're important for a SFF gaming PC

Background: I am currently designing my first SFF gaming PC. This is supposed to be a secondary, air-cooled unit that I use for browsing while playing on my other PC, but that I also take with me and use for gaming on occasion. I am trying to pick a CPU, but I am unsure how important is it...
