[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R stuck on "Loading Operating System . . ." (AHCI?)

I feel pretty stupid that it took me so long to try this, but the solution was to install Windows with a CD.

[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R stuck on "Loading Operating System . . ." (AHCI?)

Update and bump I have now tried cleaning the disk with Diskpart and also converted it to MBR rather than GPT. As well as reinstalling the Windows 10 installer to my USB drive. However, the Windows installer keeps prompting me with the same message; "Windows cannot be installed to this disk...

[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R stuck on "Loading Operating System . . ." (AHCI?)

When "PCH SATA Control Mode" and "0_1/IDE Ctrl Mode" is set to IDE, the drive shows up under "IDE Channel 0 Master" under the "Standard CMOS Features" tab, though, when changing the settings to AHCI, I only see it under the "Hard Disk Boot Priority" setting when hitting enter on that. I also see...

[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R stuck on "Loading Operating System . . ." (AHCI?)

No, I'm not expecting it to work in another computer. After several attempts of trying to get it to install on the machine, I gave up and tried installing it on another to see if that would work. It worked on that system, but not on the one that failed to install it in the first place...

[SOLVED] Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R stuck on "Loading Operating System . . ." (AHCI?)

I recently built an older computer and have been trying to get Windows booting for a couple of days now. First of all, I ran into the problem that I couldn't install Windows onto the disk because "This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk." I tried creating a thread for that...

Question Is this a good 1440p 144hz VA Freesync monitor for my PC Setup?

I doubt many games will run at 144FPS, though anything above 100+ will look significantly smoother. I don't have experience with Freesync or G-Sync myself, but from what I've heard, it should be pretty good. ^^ Good choice to go with a VA panel as well, rather than a TN. Ideally you'd want an...

Question Is this a good 1440p 144hz VA Freesync monitor for my PC Setup?

32" is quite large, but if you enjoy larger monitors, then I don't see any issue with it. If your aim is to play games and casually watch movies and videos, and not do any heavy photo or video editing that requires a more color accurate display, this one should do the trick nicely. It will work...

Question Windows cannot be installed to this disk. This computer's hardware may not support booting to this disk.

I just built a computer from some older parts earlier today, and have been pulling my hair out because of this error that occurs when trying to install Windows. Here's the error: So far, I've tried changing some settings in the BIOS, such as changing from IDE to AHCI as some guides have...

[SOLVED] Considering this PC, need second opinion.

If you're after "bang for your buck", then you should be looking at either buying the parts yourself and assembling the PC, or buying off the used market. I would not recommend buying a prebuilt system.

    i’m swapping mice

DPI and grams are not related at all. If you're looking for a mouse that supports 1600 DPI, most do specify the DPI range they support. I recommend checking out "Rocket Jump Ninja" on YouTube for more insight as to what you should be looking at and considering when shopping for a new mouse.

    1080p g-sync or 1440p g-sync for competitive

It really depends on your budget. To be fair, if you're strictly a competitive player, I'd go with a 144Hz 1080p Freesync panel. Now that Nvidia supports Freesync, there's not really any reason to go for an overpriced G-Sync monitor, in my opinion. If your budget allows it though, I'd recommend...

    FreeNas OS error

When adding the drive to your FreeNAS, does your system refuse to boot entirely or can you still access the FreeNAS page? If you haven't already, I suggest you post this on the FreeNAS forums, as well. I've had lots of success there in the past.

AliExpress & Ebay "AMD only DDR3 RAM"

I've been looking around for some DDR3 for a build I'm working on. Though while looking, I stumbled across several sellers advertising so called "AMD only" memory. In most cases, their "Intel" memory costs 50% more for what to me seems like the same. I've heard of older Intel systems not...
