Backup Plan for pc with SSD/HDD setup (non-cloud)?

Have you considered backing up to a NAS? I have a similiar set up to you but I'm just using good old Windows Backup to a 4TB WD Blue drive from my 850 250GB EVO SSD and 2 TB WD Black. Works fine but I'm not sure if it would be easy to set up a dual backup using Windows Backup and under most...

Second opinion needed on storage setup

Ok, I was thinking of getting a hot swap-able HDD bay for my unused 3.5" drive port, this might be the push I needed to take the plunge, as it were.

Second opinion needed on storage setup

I do a fair bit of video editing and gaming on my desktop but I'm looking to upgrade my storage. So far this is what I plan to get: 2TB WD Black for media storage and Steam games 4TB WD Blue for OS backup 500GB SSD for OS and core programs 240GB SSD for scratch disk and recording (already own)...

    LP RAM for Noctua D15

I"m looking for 32GB of DDR3, 1866 or better. The G.skill Ares would fit but I'd have to move the fan a little. The CORSAIR Vengeance LP would fit without moving the second fan at all but it is $20 more and the CAS latency is slightly worse than G.skill. Are there any options I'm overlooking...

Why should RAM sticks be staggered?

But according to this TH article http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/PARALLEL-PROCESSING,1705-15.html the actual difference is ~5% between single and duel. I really don't think it's worth investing in new RAM just so I can run it in duel channel mode.

Why should RAM sticks be staggered?

I just got the Noctua D15 and my high profile ram means I can't fit the fan in the case with the ram in their 'correct' staggered slots. However, if I move them both to the heatsink I can fit the fan in, no problem. What I'm wondering is, what are the trade offs from running both RAM sticks in...

Fractal R5 lack of 120mm fan holes?

Noctua's fans come with anti vibration mounting pads and rubber grommets, they are a bit pricey however.

Fractal R5 front case fans making high humming when door closed?

Are you sure it's the fans? I'm having a similar problem but it's my 3.5" HDDs that are causing the case to vibrate.

Fractal Define R5 Window vs Windowless

Since the side panel is removable it's possible you could simply buy the windowed side panel on ebay or something if you change your mind two years down the road. I have the windowless case, no regrets.

Phanteks Enthoo Pro or Fractal Design Define R5

I have the define r5 and love the look and performance. If I had a complaint it's that the front air filter isn't a tight fit allowing air to circumvent the actual filter but I fixed that with some aftermarket sticky foam seal from Amazon. I have 4 noctua case fans so I wasn't keen on seeing the...

Define R5, HDDs causing case to vibrate annoyingly.

2 WD Greens and a Seagate, haven't had time to pull them out and test them yet.

Seeking suggestions for a Fan Controller - Fractal r5

Keep in mind that with the fractal r5, unless you remove the front door, you aren't going to see any 5.25 bay accessories anyway. Also if you have a motherboard that supports it, you can set up your fan curves right in the UEFI and never actually have to touch the settings afterwords.

Define R5, HDDs causing case to vibrate annoyingly.

I was wondering if anyone else had this problem with the Define R5 case, the HDDs mount on little sleds for easy removal but it seems that at a certain speed they cause the entire case to emit an annoying whine. I've made sure it's not the fans.
