    Nope, I tried a new PSU to see if it was dirty electricity that was stored but it wasn't that either.

    I havent had chance to try a different display cable, I am currently trying to find where my old HDMI is but I will see if it happens again I looked at the forum page you linked and it does seem like a very similar issue. I think it will be my monitor dying

    You are exactly right, they are just little squares with my desktop image in them. I'm running at 144hz and the monitor is around 3 years old

    Unfortunatley I do not have a spare PC to test this on, I havent tried safe mode either as it only happens around once a day.     Thanks for all the info, I have an EVGA 750w gold, it's around 3 years old now. The RAM is running at 32000MHz as I had checked last night. I can do a fresh install of Windows, but I don't have issues with Windows 11 at the moment but if its more appropriate I can go back to Windows 10.
