Question New Win10 install, newly built PC, Edge only opens some web pages.

Update: Looks like it was the wifi, usb d-link. I was using an old usb wifi setup, and it would work enough to connect, but not enough to open all webpages. I used a newer link from my current computer, but it wasn't being "seen" by win10. Its been a while since I bought the newer link, and I...

Question New Win10 install, newly built PC, Edge only opens some web pages.

The internet is connected, and has installed all of the current updates. Its just the Edge will only open certain websites. I can even watch Youtube videos, but some site just won't open [one being the Firefox down loader]. I don't have an ethernet cable, but the modem is only about ten feet...

Question New Win10 install, newly built PC, Edge only opens some web pages.

During installing I was asked to connect to an available network, but since I figured I would need the D link [which I was using on my current/older PC to research install problems that kept popping up], I just opted for the "I don't have internet" option, at that time.

Question New Win10 install, newly built PC, Edge only opens some web pages.

Yes, I'm getting full wifi strength with the D link plugged into the usb port. With the d link I can see the available connections, then I have to enter the password. [also should be noted that the D link has to be unplugging, then plugged in every time I start the pc, and the password...

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

Well, I was able to get w10 loaded. I had to remove the SSD drive from the mother board, and reinstall it. It was a hail Mary pass, but that did the trick. Of course there are new things to do to get everything setup [one being able to download Firefox], but for now I'm going to just let...

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

The only thing I have is a brand new external sata drive. I'll plug it in, and give it a try. I guess I'll throw the new internal ssd drive into the trash, and order a new one in the future.

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

Thanks for the help. I want to make sure this is said, I do have a brand new w10 with its installation usb, for which I'm installing W10. I also have a separate usb drive [not connected to the new pc] that I used to try to boot w7. Apparently, the windows installation media does have...

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

Got it, but, it won't run on my pc. Like I mentioned I get this error message. "We're not sure what happened, but we're unable to run this tool on your pc" Error code 0x80072f8f - 0x20000 Also, I did run the diskpart on my new PC, and it wouldn't "clean" [no other drives except the...

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

I did download the Windows installation [Media creation tool] on a usb drive, and tried to run it on my working Win 7 PC, but I get an error message saying basically that it can't run this program. I then downloaded it to my working PC [win7], and tried to open the file, but again, it still...

Question New build. First tried boot with Win7 disc with no success. Now trying with new Win 10, runing into problems.

Thanks. I did look into the bios for something that would erase the drive, but I couldn't find anything. Maybe I can take a picture of the bios screen, and post it here a little later.

Question I think I screwed up. Plugged the grapics 8pin into the cpu 8 pin slot.

No. Like I said I work on vehicles, and I learned over 40 years ago you NEVER force anything. If something isn't going together you stop, and find out why. If you look at the eight pin cpu socket in the motherboard pic, then look at the pic of the gps eight pin plug, you can see its an exact...
