Thanks just found out through disk management.

When I open diskpart in command prompt it shows disk 0 and disk 1. How do I know for sure which is the ssd and which is the hdd?

Once I've erased the disk will I be able to use it immediately or will I have to format it?

Hi, just to say thanks for your help last night and that I've managed to get the ssd installed and I'm up and running. Just one last thing. What is the best way to wipe the partition of my old hdd now that I've reconnected it?
