[SOLVED] M.2 SSD mounted next to the GPUs gets hot while rendering. Advice to improve the situation ?

Ah, I didn't think too much about it, for once. It was on sale and I needed a drive fast. But atm I can't really afford to burn through them, time- or money-wise. Today it seemed like keeping the room much colder was helping. Thanks for all of the ideas

[SOLVED] M.2 SSD mounted next to the GPUs gets hot while rendering. Advice to improve the situation ?

My old SSD recently died and now I think I know why. The only two M.2 slots on my mobo (specs below) are right above & under my GPUs, which can run for hours while rendering. The new SSD I got has a heatsink but still gets quite warm (WD_BLACK): Specs: CPU: Intel Core i7-8700K 3.7 GHz 6-Core...

[SOLVED] Can't boot to recovery USB unless SSD removed

I got a new SSD and everything works great now. Out of curiosity I got a USB SSD enclosure to try to read the dead one. It freezes up my whole system when plugged in and: CrystalDiskInfo recognized it first, says Healthy 89%. Whatever that means, it seems like a lie: Windows was not...

[SOLVED] Can't boot to recovery USB unless SSD removed

Hi, Yes it shows up in BIOS. Before I reset it was only showing as "Windows Boot Manager" followed by the SSD name, and now it shows both - still WBM and another option without that on front. When I try to boot from it another thing that happens besides black is the "UNMOUNTABLE BOOT VOLUME"...

It was "open box" from FSP direct; I confirmed it'd have warranty.

Question Which model 1000W PSU to run dual 1080 Tis (rendering, no SLI)?

Thanks all. I ended up getting an FSP Aurum PT 1200W (before I saw all these replies). It got a great review on JohnnyGURU (who, I see is here? hello!), was a good price, and still has warranty. It's also S- or 1- tier on a few lists. Only concern is that it's a bit old, I think 2015 or so...

Question Which model 1000W PSU to run dual 1080 Tis (rendering, no SLI)?

Looking at 1000W PSUs to run a 2x 1080 Ti system for 3D rendering (& gaming). Overwhelmed: - This range is normally pricy, and right now it's even worse. There's NOTHING good in stock anywhere. So I'm looking at used/refurb/etc. deals. - I'm referencing a couple of tier lists (even though...

    1080ti + monitor without Gsync

Similar to you, I have a 1080 ti and the monitor I'm testing out right now is capped at 60 Hz, no Gsync. To confirm what Traditore says, I'm using Nvidia's Fast Sync which seems to be working well. (Tried all of the other options too; YMMV). I might keep this monitor and use Fast sync when...
