I have a samsung 970 pro NVMe M.2 that i'm using for storage, I'm building a new pc so going to put the OS on the M.2. Question should I reformat the M.2 before I put it on a new motherboard Asrock x570 steel legend.

MSI has a tool for there Motherboard's called live update 6 to update the BIOS and other things. See if your Motherboard manufacturer has something like that.
