Question CPU Cooler for AMD Threadripper 1950X

I've run a 2950x with both the U14S and a custom water loop with the full TR4 water block, and there is little difference in performance with the 240 HD radiator from EKWB. The thermal bottleneck appears to be the IHS to dice. The Threadripper is not great for overclocking, in my opinion...

    Question 3900X availability

This begins to smell of process problems at TSC. They have a 7nm process, but it is in limited capacity and probably the yields are not great as the new process matures. It is unfortunate for those of us who committed based on promises of in stock end of July, for example. It's now the end of...

[SOLVED] Can 280mm AIO cool overclocked 9700k?

AIO Corsair 100i (240 mm radiator) keeps my 9700k at 70-75 at 165 W load.

[SOLVED] Uncomfortable Hot Air Coming from PC

You can't reduce the heat, as that is the thermal dissipation of the system. You can lower the temperature by increasing the airflow, since the heat will be dissipated over a larger volume of air. The 120 mm radiator is not ideal for the 9700k, so the airflow from the radiator will be quite...

[SOLVED] Core i7 9700k temp is too high

The stress test temp is normal if you are running the p95 small fft test that uses avx2. That version of the test is considered an overload for the cpu. Try searching the forum, as you are certainly not the first with this issue.

[SOLVED] Is it me or do these RGB Fans and RAM Led's for White look not like White?

White LEDs are not really white. They are usually a mix of blue and possibly some other color and some phosphor coating to make them seem white. It is not uncommon for there to be a strong blue cast, or a yellow cast. Remember, LEDs produce light by electron energy transitions, and they only...

Question GPU doesn't fit in PCIE and I've completed a watercooled pc

Exactly what is the photo showing me. I can't even tell which end of the board or if you have a vertical PCIex riser, or what. It's likely a mechanical alignment or obstruction problem. What is the exact version of the motherboard (Extreme, Hero, etc.). What is the shroud or heatsink shown...

Question GPU doesn't fit in PCIE and I've completed a watercooled pc

Looking at your photo again, maybe I am seeing the GPU waterblock hitting the PCIex connector for the next slot? If so, you will need to shift the waterblock a bit to clear that connector, or use a smaller waterblock.

Question GPU doesn't fit in PCIE and I've completed a watercooled pc

Hey, you are a terrible photographer.:) I can't tell anything from the photo, but there are only a couple of things that can be a problem. On the edge of the motherboard there are headers for the USB and audio and perhaps fans. If the GPU needs to seat above them, the cable may be in the way...

[SOLVED] Water loop not filling up!

With the reservoir full and sealed, and the pump running, tip the computer to ensure that the air bubbles can get out of the water blocks. Tip it so that that output sides are highest. Also do that for the radiator. Air wants to rise to the top of the tubes or reservoir or wherever, and can...

[SOLVED] CPU hot in water cooled loop

First thing to do is to check the CPU power v. temperatures. A single variable does not make for a meaningful inquiry or diagnosis. Maybe the games draw more power than the benchmarks.

[SOLVED] Corsair H60 both tubes are hot

If there is a difference, there is probably flow, and the fact that you have reasonable CPU temps backs that up. I've actually measured the temperatures of my two tubes on a custom loop, and the difference is 0.5 C between the inlet and the outlet. It is rejecting up to 200 watts at that time...

Question Expensive AIO coolers: does it really worth it?

It's all air cooling - and that means surface area and airflow are king. Generally, a high-end air cooler and a 240mm radiator are about the same, except that the radiator may solve some space or noise issues if the case can accommodate the larger radiator. Otherwise, there is no point in...

    [SOLVED] Ram cooling

My experience is that 4 sticks installed in four adjacent slots will get fairly warm if you choose to run the XMP profile or are overclocking things in other ways. I have also, albeit infrequently, had RAM that would start to throw errors running stress tests when the memory gets warm. My...
