What would be better to buy? One 8gb stick of 1866 g.skill ram or 2 x 4gb sticks of 1600 g.skill ram. Also if you have any recommendations for ram please tell me that too.

So my brother is giving me a motherboard and a processor for free, he told me that it is a 3rd generation I7 2.97ghz but when i look up what he told me all i find is a intel mobile processor. I dont know if he doesnt know what processor he is giving me or what but im getting it in a few weeks so...
