You don't have to buy anything. Uninstall the ATI drivers and download the latest.

Google your motherboard model, go to your manufacturers website, download the latest Bios, run the update method stated by them.

So I got a pc for my mom and I would like to put windows 7 (64-Bit) on but there are only audio drivers for win7 but all the drivers are there for Vista (64-Bit). Should I be able to install the Vista drivers when I have win7 on? Thanks in advanced

6970's are good card from what I know. Rather change to GTX 670/680 SLI than 690 single. GTX 690 has to spare memory bandwidth between the two GPUs.

I have the Q6600 :) Its good enough for BF3 multiplayer.

Please find out what PSU you have as that is most likely the problem. Make sure that all of the connectors are correctly connected.
