What app did you download? Did you format it on your Mac?

I would try different power supply.

It can be a power supply problem. Are you sure the PCIe power cables are plugged in the GPU? If yes and still there is problem you might want to try another power supply.

It can also be bad or weak sectors. Open event viewer and search for events containing NTFS or disk. You might try using SpinRite, which often revives crashed or slow drives, but that might not be worth buying it if you have some really old drive...

Communication protocol to interface with USB is totally different then the one for COM so I am sorry you will not fool your app to just use USB instead of COM. There is no chance it would work unless you get some patch for the app.

It's simple. The flash drive is low quality. It happened to me several times with various pendrives from ma y manufacturers. Believe me this is nothing unusual. How much did it cost? When did you buy it? If it's still in warranty then just return it. There is really no point trying to fix it...

80GB for Windows 10 is really tight. You should really move the D: data away and do the partition change as suggested. If you can't from whatever reason you can try moving some dirs from C to D and use junction utility to make an NTFS link so the apps using that folder would still work
