I have been having a problem lately with downloading files as my C drive is full and it can only take a maximum of 80gb. However my D drive has 370gb of free space. I having been trying many different methods of trying to transfer the free space in my D drive to my C drive but it is not working such as using windows disk manager and downloading EaseUS partition master.

I really need a solution for this problem of mine as my computer has only been used for a few months.
I am currently using windows 10

why isn't disk manager workig? Are they two physical disks? I'm assuming it is a single disk with multiple volumes.

You should be able to delete the simple partition D. After the partition is deleted it should appear as free space on the disk, and you should be able to expand the C drive to fill it.

Where in this process are things going wrong? Why doesn't it work?

Hi there Raja_98,

I would totally agree with greens. You should really provide some more information on the issue. Also, it would be really nice if you provide a screenshot of Disk Management.

If you have two different, physical drives, you will not be able to allocate the space from one of them to the other. (you could have 80 GB + 400 GB drives)

Also, keep in mind that you need to back up the data stored on the drives, before dealing with partitions.

I have 1 disk which has two main partitions which are called the c drive and d drive. what I want to do is not to delete the d drive partition but to transfer a lot of the free space into the C drive as the C drive is full.

I have tried to shrink the volume of the D partition then expand the C volume but disk manager does not allow this to happen

80GB for Windows 10 is really tight. You should really move the D: data away and do the partition change as suggested. If you can't from whatever reason you can try moving some dirs from C to D and use junction utility to make an NTFS link so the apps using that folder would still work
