I recently bought a Optiplex 790, and switched out the motherboard, and realized that dell uses a propritary 5 pin design. My new motherboard has a 4 pin connection. Can I plug it into that port on the motherboard or not.

I bought the Sapphire R7 240 1GB GDDR5 and it is running DirectX 11.2 (12 has not been released yet). It says it can run in 4K, but that's for video playback (not rendering videos, gaming, or editing). For 10 dollars more you can go with the R7 250 and get a 25% (maybe more) boost in performance.

If I have a non-OEM OS does that mean my chances of success will go up exponentially.

Does this look like a good upgrade for it: The Asus mobo, the NZXT case, And a raidmax 2 +12v rail 630W psu

Is there a slight chance that changing motherboards will cause my cpu to not work in the new motherboard (like damaging the cpu while taking it out.)
