    The gigabyte is IPS while the Asus is a VA. The Acer can be overclocked to 165hz but watching some reviews it does suffer alot from backlight bleed.

    ray tracing is quite at its infancy at this stage. that why im half hearted of getting a monitor too soon. @_@ maybe ill just get the Asus Xg258q? this one is freesync.

    you think it's more appropriate to upgrade to a new GPU? I'm a bit hesitant cause I currently have a 60hz monitor at this time. I can upgrade to a new gpu but won't be able to maximize its usage on FPS games. just wondering really.
