@SBMfromLA I was changing it from windows, in the monitors menu it said the optimal resolution was 1920x1080 at 60hz and what I was running it at the time (1024x768) and HDMI, switching to a dvi cord completely solved my problem.

Hello my 5820k is idling around 28c-32c with a h100i and during gaming hits 40c-59c (59 only in a really long session with a more intense game, usually stays around 47c.). Its in a fractal design R5 which doesn't have the best airflow and 2 r9-290 tri-x's and playing games at 3440x1440.

Hello, I just cloned my HDD to my SSD ,I set it to boot to the SSD in the bios but when I booted it was still booting from the old HDD, I disconnected the HDD and when I tried to boot after I got a message telling me that I have to select a proper boot drive and restart.

MSI x99 krait edition, gpus are 290 trixs.

Just finished my build and when I powered it on I noticed the very left fan of the top card was grinding on the bottom card, could I just wedge a piecw of paper or some of the antistatic bag it came in between them?

Hello I just ordered this motherboard: http://m.newegg.com/Product/index?itemnumber=N82E16813130812 , it has 3 pcie 16x slots and I will be running 2 290s, my question is which lanes should I use/does it matter, I would guess to use the 2 with one in the middle for airflow.

Also I was able to run kombustor no prob for over 10 mins

Update: it turns out one of my ram sticks was faulty and causing the problem, yha ks for all the help. I am wondering if anything else is damaged and what are ways to check?

I'm pretty sure the problem is the ram, my friend is lending me a stick to try it out. And again really thanks for all the help!
