Hi I have had my PC up and running with no hiccups for about a year now and just 2 days ago it started crashing, the first day it happened every hour or so, second day only twice, and today its only staying on for about 20 mins before crashing. It also somtimes crashes while booting up. All my temps are fine but I did notice on restart after a crash my dram led turns red then away, also an led right beside the power led turns red too (motherboard is a ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+ ) but I couldn't find it in the owners manual..

Specs:
AMD 8350 with h100i
ASUS M5A97 R2.0 AM3+
16gb corsair vengeance 1600mhz
AMD 290 tri-x
Evga 1300w supernova v2 PSU
Win. 8.1

All help is greatly appreciated :)

Edit: another mystery led to the right of the 1st pcie slot turns red on restart (was covered by GPU)

Edit 2: Im now not able to get into windows at all, it crashes a few moments after the Asus logo disappears.

Greetings,

May You please do the following?

1. Run Memtest x86 from usb/cd/dvd - 2 wall runs
2. Run Crystal Disk Info, and post a screenshot here [or write whether there's some yellow/red markers]
3. Run OCCT Linpack/Prime 95 for at least 10 minutes
4. Run FurMark, or MSi Afterburner for at least 10 minutes

And tell us which of the tests failed.

Remove everything from the computer, put out even motherboard. Put motherboard on a paper, discharge any static from Yourself, and connect power supply [main rail, cpu support rail], one ram module [pick a random one], and a processor. If this won't work, one of those three is dead. I go to bed now, I'll be back within 10-12 hrs. Take care!

Nah, there's not a big chance that something else will be damaged, so You should be fine. But, if You wanna be sure, run that Crystal Disk Info, HD Tune Surface test, MSi Kombustor/Furmark [You did that already] and OCCT Linpack, for at least 10 mins, and You're golden.
