after messing around with the resolution setting, I've found that 800x600 and lower resolution work with no crash, 1024x768 and higher will crash and higher it is faster it crash, full screen vs windowed mode didn't make a difference

After unboxing the haf xm I see that the side panel isn't closed all the way. I tried undoing the thumb screw and the side panel just falls out like the latch wasn't there at all. With the screw in it look like this the top front corner doesn't stay in. Is this defective and should return it?

the os is retail copy driver won't be the same because it's switching from 990fx to z77 mb so best to install fresh? also the storage drive would that be fine just plugging into the new system? or have to install as well? edit: also for everything else that is installed on the os drive will...

Right now the xfx 7970ghz is only $30 more than the msi 670pe and if I don't get the extra fan for h100i that fund can go into the switch. Good idea? I don't mind not using the corsair link to control fan and the 7970ghz is 2 tier higher than the 670 for only $30 more

Does it only whine when connected to the corsair link or does it still whine when it's connected directly onto the mobo fan header? edit: seems only whine at low setting, and at medium setting is still not as loud as the 212 fan so should be okay right?
