This will be 2nd time I'm building a gaming pc. The 1st one will be handed down to my cousin.

Aprox. purchase date: within next 2 months

Budget range: less than $1000(+100) preferably, I don't mind rebate never had problems before

Usage: mostly gaming and watching movie

No prefered website to purchase from.

NOT ANYMORE:[Do prefered nvidia over amd for the stereoscopic 3D (might not be good at all since current set up don't do well with that)].
It was the bad lighting and minor eye ache when I re-tried the stereoscopic 3D so I'm considering the better price/performace now with 7970.

Overclock: I've tried before only toward the lower safer zone not pushing the limit

monitor Asus vg236, 1920x1080 120hz

Things I'm keeping from the old one:
- 2x 250GB Samsung 840 ssd (not in raid set up)
- 120hz monitor (trying to get more than 60 fps now)
- windows 7 64-bit pro

Current plans:
- i5-3570k

- HSF: Corsair h100i

- Mobo: asrock z77 extreme4

- Ram: 2x4GB low profile corsair

- PSU: corsair tx750

- GPU: msi gtx 670 pe (currently only going to get 1, but might get a 2nd to SLI later)
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008BGXYAS/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER
-OR: xfx 7970 ghz edition,

- case: CM haf xm
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B007Q7EG7I/ref=ox_sc_act_title_6?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Things I could use help with:
- Is motherboard good enough for moderate overclocking? Is there cheaper one that do the same or same price one that does better?
- Is gpu going to give 120fps on low to mid setting and 60fps when doing 3D?
- Is psu going to power the sli gtx 670 in the future? (I read that it should but just to be safe going to ask anyway)
- I'm not picky about case as long as it have enough room inside to fit everything then I'm happy looks is not a priority for me.

 sorry for big block of text, please do give suggestion and advice wherever possible, thank you.

edit: Also wanted to ask if the hsf good enough for 4.4ghz oc?
2: no need for push pull
3: might use nh-d14 instead of 212 evo
4: 3570k + evo took out 2500k and nh-d14
5: switched 212 evo with h100i
6: might change gtx 670 to 7970 ghz

Interesting - I didn't know that about the H100i, I think I would go with a D14 over it, it's still the reigning king of HSF for now.

Interesting indeed. I wouldn't like high pitch whine, does the 7v adapter comes with the sp120s or is that a seperate buy?

Does it only whine when connected to the corsair link or does it still whine when it's connected directly onto the mobo fan header?

edit: seems only whine at low setting, and at medium setting is still not as loud as the 212 fan so should be okay right?

Well it all depends my fans wined at low and medium settings and i couldnt hear the wine at high only because the fans were to loud and rattled at high. I heard of someone using the motherboard headers but i diddn't bother with it because the whole reason i went with the h100i was because i wanted to use corsair link. The stock fans on balanced are quieter than my 212 evo was and the sp120s gave me about 5c difference cooler while being set on quiet rather than balanced.

Right now the xfx 7970ghz is only $30 more than the msi 670pe and if I don't get the extra fan for h100i that fund can go into the switch. Good idea?

I don't mind not using the corsair link to control fan and the 7970ghz is 2 tier higher than the 670 for only $30 more

I think the price is right.

An extra fan only saves 1-2C. What's the point? Especially since you got a H100i. Personally, I'd rather have the nh-d14 and deal with less issues. It saves some money and its the best on the market.
