I slipstreamed the amd hotfix and sp3 into xp pro. Not sure that the hotfix was necessary on a new build, but I did it anyway and all is well. Prior to this build, tried to do sp3 on a dell and it was nothing but a hassle and it is an intel machine. Me thinks there are too many variables...
