Just to update you guys I got an adapter and now the 1080 is working perfectly!

I browsed the internet a bit and found that HDMI ports are kinda finicky and my pc behaves like it booted Windows so I think this is the solution because I eliminated all other possibilities.

I'll just stop the conversation right here because the PC shows signs of booting Windows so please stop continuing to trash talk my "bad pc knowledge".

I know that already and that is the reason why it is used for VR, AUDIO, AND VIDEO. And this specific PSU has Japanese capacitors, good reviews, and is 1200w so it obviously won't overload because of a single 1080 and a 95w CPU.

They are dangerous if you buy 500w piece of crap ones that cost like 25$ and HDMI ports on VR ready GPUs today ARE reserved for VR which would explain why it has only one HDMI and 3 DPs. It's a 1080 not a 1050 you know ;) .

For people looking for a solution, I concluded that 1080's HDMI port is kinda finicky because it is reserved for VR so it will not output anything through it, only through DP and DVI ( default display ports for it) unless you set it up otherwise in GeForce settings.

Also, I looked up some reviews and this particular PSU is built with Japanese capacitors and people said that it's pretty good.

When I start the PC up the 1080 doesn't output any signal, it just spins the fans for a bit and then the fans stop. My PSU is a Raidmax Cobra 1200w, it has 100A on the +12v rail and my mobo is an ASUS Prime A320M-K (I checked multiple websites and they all said that it is compatible with the 1080).

I suspected even before I started this thread that it is a PSU issue but I wanted someone more experienced to give their opinion. You were right, the PSU is about 5 amps below the required amperage. Thank you for your help. Might as well get a new PSU.

I have a Ryzen 5 1600x, some pretty old PSU its peak power output is 420w so i think the issue is that and my mobo is an Asus Prime A320M-K.

I just got a Phoenix GTX 1080 and it won't work. When i boot my pc the screen remains black and my GPU's fans spin for a bit and then stop. Do you think that this is a PSU problem or something else because it is pretty cheap.
