Help me choose a portable gaming / workstation laptop

I'll stick to the Asus then, I prefer higher refresh rate rather than higher resolution, and I have already used Asus' laptops and they're very good. Thanks a lot, best regards!!

Help me choose a portable gaming / workstation laptop

Greetings community I need to buy a new laptop for work and gaming purposes, and it has to be PORTABLE. I have a new job and I travel a lot due to it, so I need a powerfull yet portable laptop that I can take with me anywhere without hurting my back. So far I've used an Asus ROG G750JM (since...

    i7 6700K Temps too high?

try setting your cpu voltage (vcore) to manual or adaptive (better IMO) in you mobo bios and lower it a bit. I have the same cpu on an ASUS mobo and the board was over voltaging my cpu to 1.35v and temps were spiking to 95-100º. I set the vcore to adaptive 1.185v and problem solved, temps...

Good parts for a FX-9590 cpu

After reading all comments here, I'd like to post my personal experience with the FX 9590 I bought it as an upgrade from a Fx 6120 which I had running on a MSI 990FXA GD80 v2 with stock cooler. The 9590 came with a Cooler Master 120v AIO, but it wasn't very stable as my computer crashed under...

    i7 6700k overclocking question

I purchased a Noctua 40mm fan to put it on my mobo VRMs, the ASUS TUF Mark 1 has a spot to place such a fan right behind the I/O shield and blow fresh air to the VRMs. I still think that a sensor is kinda broken since it idles @ 0º at an ambient room of 28º-32º, and spikes to 128º. Thanks again

    i7 6700k overclocking question

Well...eventually after a nighttime render (the same day I wrote this thread), the 4.5Ghz OC crashed... So I increased the voltage yet another bit, temps went up to 82º max on the hottest core, but I think I have a stable system now since I was able to complete the render scene :) It's good to...

    i7 6700k overclocking question

hello, I'm relatively new to this forum and to OC, so I have a few doubts. I recently bought a new mobo: Asus z270 TUF Mark 1, and paired with my i7 6700k. While playing/rendering my temps got too high up to 90º. I did some research in the internet and found that some mobo manufacturers (Asus in...

cpu temp raised after changing my mobo

so I tried to gently ush the water block towards the mobo and nothing changed so I gess it's well installed, and I was able to downlaod HWMonitor, still getting high temps. I searched some info here in the forums and I think the problem might be related to voltage config. Turns out the asus's...

cpu temp raised after changing my mobo

i check the temps with aida64 and asus's own thermal radar 2 that comes with the board cd. i have the pump connected to the "pump header" on the mobo, though i only get the pump's readings via corsair link (full speed), the mobo says the pump is off (?). the radiator fans are connected to a...

Good parts for a FX-9590 cpu

i had that very same cpu paired with a msi 990fxa gd80 and i was able to get it up and running with a cooler master seidon 120m. temps never went above 60-63 degrees. anyway i would recommed getting a solid 700w or 750w psu and a 240mm aio, just in case.

cpu temp raised after changing my mobo

hello, first of all sorry for my crappy english. i recently bought an asus tuf z270 mark1 (was able to get it for 150usd) as a replace for my older msi b150 gaming m3. i'm running a 6700k @ stock, no OC (planning to upgrade to the 7700k in the future since i don't have the money to buy a...
