i ended up getting the ryzen5 1600 and overclocked it to 3.8 with more room to overclock more, haven't looked back yet :)

i got a r5 1600 and overlocked to 3.7ghz with the stock cooler with no heat problems at all. Stick with the 1600.

So i bought a pc last week, its got a fx 6300, a gigabyte 970a-ds3p motherboard, 2x4gb corsair vengeance ram, a sapphire r9 270x and a 500gb HHD and a corsair VS450 psu. A nice little office pc for only £100. But after using it for a while i find that it keeps freezing up, more than i'v ever...

I forgot to add, also i have a gtx 970, and for the price of a new mobo cpu and ram i could get a gtx 1070 which is also tempting, but i feel i would rather upgrade the much older cpu/mobo/ram

Hey guys, i was just wondering what the max temp my fx 4300 should be? i tested it at 100% load and it got to 65-66 max. is that safe? i did a bit of research and some people said 70 or below is okay and others said 61 max, just thought id ask to be sure. Thanks anyway, Matt

get msi afterburner for the on screen display and monitor how much cpu usage and gpu usage is going on. im using a fx 4300 which is worse than your cpu and a xfx 7870 2gb which i think is a bit weaker than the gtx 960 and im playing on high texture and the rest on very high and getting 40-60 fps apart from in the middle of the city where its 30-35fps so you should be fine.
