I had this problem with a gigabtye mobo. Changing from ultrafast boot to fast boot in bios fixed the problem. Do you have a gigabyte?

Did you install HP drivers for the card reader?

A used 980ti is still a great card, better than 1060/R9. If it don't improve you have the card for the new build.

If you wanna game with peace of mind I'd go to Windows 10 with a new sd/hd. Is your rig dusty inside? Dust has metal in it and it gets in everywhere do a lil inspection of your inner case, PSU and motherboard for dust and anything unusual.

Are you running overclocked? Maybe you didn't get rid of all malware and need a fresh install. It may not be for you so it's just a suggestion.

Have you tried another SSD/HDD for O/S? Also if you can take a look @ your motherboard closely and check your capacitors for ones that may have popped. I had an old biostar that did the same in thing idle or running COD MW2 it had several popped caps.

Ghost Recon Wildlands has over 200 hours on me heh. The PVP was pretty good for Beta. They offered 6 classes, Sniper, Spotter, Artillery Drone, The Tank, Jack of all trades and 1 other. Still under NDA so I can't say much more. edit: looking forward to Destiny 2 for pc in Oct.

With a 980ti SC I get 60 fps with a custom High setting and 4K all day on a 28 in. on GW Wildlands. Not too shabby.

Go single GPU as SLI is unsupported in quite a few games.

Your rig is just not equipped for that game. Your ram is ddr3 also, not too good for gaming these days as is only 2 gigs vram.

Sounds like it's your mobo. Check all your caps make sure none are poped.

For studying any laptop will do but gaming is another thing. Nvidia/AMD is the way to go for gaming. Stay away from Intel graphics unless you play mine-craft. This is a good gaming laptop...

I have about the same specs and I run a gtx 650. Most games run @ 720 and run about 50 fps low/med settings. I would go gtx 970 just like Mike said and even better if you got the money. Also are you streaming over wifi? For me that's a no no unless you got the right gear. A good quality router...
