How many pins do I need in my motherboard?

Case fans (ones that are purchased on their own that you would install somewhere in your case) should have 3 pin headers (DC fans), unless you specifically buy ones that are labelled as PWM, which have 4 pin headers for speed control. CPU fans like the one on the Intel stock heatsink or the ones...

Is it okay to run PC without side panel?

Hi guys, I wanted to know if it's okay to run a PC without a side panel. I have mine on a desk, and I removed the side panel so that I can see the insides as the side window of my case (Phantom 410) is very small and looks quite ugly. I know that the lack of a side panel equates to less airflow...

Help with acrylic tubing water cooling

Hi guys, I'm thinking of adding an acrylic (hard) tubing water cooling loop to my current build. It'll be my first time doing a custom water cooling loop, so I need a little bit of advice. I'm stuck as to how I would connect all of it and alight the tubing/fittings without bending the tubing, as...

Decreasing Gigabyte R9 390's temperature by adjusting fans

It's strange that the fans aren't at full speed when your gpu temp is at 84c. It's perfectly okay to manually speed up the fans to 100%. PC fans are all designed to run at full speed for very long periods of time. It's not harmful to have them at full speed.

GPU temperature 66°c is normal ?

The MSI cards do turn on only when your gpu temp is above 60C. It's a power saving/noise-reducing feature. What is your gpu idle temperature?

GPU temperature 66°c is normal ?

70ºC while gaming is an acceptable temperature, especially if it is hot or humid where you live. GPU's are able to withstand temperatures up to 90ºC, slightly more than CPU's. What are your idle and 100% load temperatures?

    Looking at a GTX980 or 970 (non-reference, OC'd)

The 970's vram issue is quite disappointing, but that being said it won't be a noticeable issue for at least another year if you plan on playing the average triple-A title on max settings 1080p...

How do i tell if i need a new PSU?

Unfortunately, you would need at least a 400W PSU for a system with a GTX 960. 300W definitely isn't enough, so you'll need to upgrade. To answer your question, you would need a special device to measure the amount of power that a PSU is delivering to the GPU. As long as your GPU is functioning...

    Should I be bottlenecking?

I do not think bottlenecking is the issue as an i5 4570 is more than enough to match a R9 270X. Try updating GPU drivers.

You should probably do more research before building your own PC. Can't help you without any pictures.

GTX 980 30fps on Metro Last Light?

Hi there. I'm getting an average of 30fps (give or take) on Metro Last Light Redux with my MSI GTX 980. GPU usage is at 100% the entire time, and temperature stable at 75C. In Arma 3, I get 40fps at around 50% usage, and for some reason it won't automatically increase usage to give me 60fps. Do...

    SFM Temperature Normal?

Installing an aftermarket cooler definitely will not void any warranty. In fact, it is highly recommended. Certain larger coolers like the 212 may in fact block RAM slots, although it's usually not a problem with ATX builds. Use pcpartpicker.com to check for compatibility. Single channel RAM is...

P95 is meant to test the performance of whatever cooling setup you have. It is not meant to be a stability test.
