Nope, Using a dedicated card for PhysX is a thing of the past. Using one now will likely reduce frames significantly in games, holding back your 1080 ti. Linus made a video on it if you're interested.

Save up for the 8GB version, Its not that much more but will be better in the long run. Some demanding games will peak right past 4GB and will bottleneck. I would only recommend going with 4GB if you do only play less demanding games.
