Alright well thank you for replying, in the end I did take it to a computer shop (was hard to find on Christmas Eve eve) and they said it was the power supply that had died. I got it replaced and now it's working fine. Thank you for taking the time to try to help though!

Okay thanks, so we just booted it into the UEFI mode using a tutorial and it said that there was something like no boot drive found. Does this mean that it was definitely installed onto the legacy part?

So how do I know if it was installed into UEFI mode? She installed Windows 10 trough the internet.

Oh well there is an option in the Bios that allows us to do a legacy boot or something so wouldn't there be something to do with that?

Hey, thanks for responding. I checked on the task manager for anything using a load of the CPU and nothing came up - the highest usage was 6% from any one program. I am currently scanning the system with Malwarebytes and will update you when its finished. Thanks alot!
