Not all games supports SLI / CrossFire, and in those games only 1 of your gpu's will be working while the others just lay dormant. What games are we talking about, and please post all your specs.

If you got the money to spend i would recommend going with a "Asus Maximus VII Formula" motherboard, along with an "Intel i7 4790k" cpu. You could argue with going for the "Intel i7 4960x", but the performance difference vs the price increase is for most people not worth it.
