Question NVMe SSD running at 62C. Do i need a heatsink?

I used hwinfo to note the temps, and also found that it's remaining life readout is 98%, and it's seen one year of use. It's my OS drive and also my game/video editing drive for the most part. Only one temp is listed for the SN550 it seems. How do I check for throttling? I feel like it's never...

Question NVMe SSD running at 62C. Do i need a heatsink?

I had an intel stock cooler when I first built my PC and turns out my SSD ran pretty hot, it's been a while so i dont remember the temps. But it was bad, CPU temps hit 90s during games and I assumed there may have been the hot air spreading out to the SSD since the stock cooler pushes air down...

Question Tried an RTX 3060 undervolt+OC. Is it good long term?

I just bought my first desktop GPU, an inno3D RTX 3060. I wanted to put off OC for as long as possible, but today when I ran The Witcher 3 at 1080p ultra (HBAO+), my temps soared to 75-80C ( bad case+ no bottom fans, upgrading parts one by one). So I decided to undervolt and OC to get the best...

[SOLVED] PC freezes up when playing videos/scrolling on second monitor ?

I kept the MSI monitor at 60Hz for a week and there were no lock ups since. The second monitor didnt seem to like it when the newer monitor flexes it's high refresh rate. Freesync/ Anti Motion Blur do not seem to cause any issues tho, so I only up the refresh rate when I go to play esports...

[SOLVED] PC freezes up when playing videos/scrolling on second monitor ?

I tried, it solves the issue for the most part but the screen still locked up once after an hour plus of multitasking. Haven't been able to reproduce it for now.

[SOLVED] PC freezes up when playing videos/scrolling on second monitor ?

I just got myself an MSI Optix G241 24" 1080p monitor, upgrading from a 19" 1360x768 VGA monitor. I had planned to keep using the old monitor as a secondary display and set it to extend the displays. The MSI monitor is running at 120Hz atm (HDMI) with freesync on, while the other monitor can...

    Question Intel 11400 / UHD730 iGPU - - - overclocking causing instability ?

I recently upgraded to an i5-11400 on an Asus Prime H510M-E board and a CoolerMaster MWE Bronze V2 550W 230V PSU, no dGPU yet cos of the current market so thought I'd try to get some more out of my little Intel UHD730 iGPU. First I overclocked my RAM (Corsair Vengeance LPX 3200MHz CL16) as far...

[SOLVED] Is an intel 3rd/4th gen in 2020 worth it?

I had forgotten to include the main decision my budget revolves around. The AOC 24G2 monitor. It costs $185 and takes up a huge chunk of my budget. I could get myself a 1080p competent Ryzen3300X+RX580 8GB but ill need to go with a cheap PSU, case and an A320M motherboard. I'd prefer getting a...

[SOLVED] Is an intel 3rd/4th gen in 2020 worth it?

A ryzen 3 3300x with the cheapest B450 board available (MSI B450M-A Max, cheaper than the ASRock HDV for some reason), 16GB of DDR4 RAM and an RX580 selling at $140 would fit into my $650 ambitions provided I skimp out on secondary storage, power supply, and the case. But thats just the system...

[SOLVED] Is an intel 3rd/4th gen in 2020 worth it?

My laptop has finally given out and I am in need of a desktop for gaming on the cheap. (been a laptop user mostly and have owned a couple prebuilts). And I'd prefer having to buy a used prebuilt over getting a new PC with low end parts given my tight budget of $650. So I was looking for a good...

Question Is it worth to upgrade now? 12/05/2020

I'm only a 1080p gamer and from what i see your parts are still decent. And I think we're close to seeing the launch of not only 10th gen intel, but also 4th gen ryzen and Nvidia's RTX 3000 lineup. I think that the current gen hardware have been around in the market for a while and are also not...

Question Are you a brand loyalist?

This is so true lol. He's like a lifestyle influencer, but with tech. He promotes this high end hardware filled experience which is good to have and all but I have a friend who's become 'influenced' by Linus and will never settle for anything less than the best. While this is usually a good...

Question Are you a brand loyalist?

When it comes to processors, I've always preferred AMDs. My first PC had an Athlon XP 2400+, I've had a Phenom II 555 BE that ran pretty hot, and the only time I bought an intel cpu was for my laptop which was an i5-4200U. And now I'm about to upgrade to a Ryzen system soon. When it comes to...

    Laptop for gaming

In short: You can't go wrong with the Mag-15 What I wanted to recommend was that you could try and wait for more Ryzen 4th gen laptops to come out, but it'd take longer than August. Currently you have the Asus ROG Zephyrus G15 (GA502IV) which ships with a Ryzen 4800HS (much better than Intel...
