    because your gpu came out your last system and you tried to plug and play, your new CPU and Mobo don't even see the GPU if its there because the CPU and mobo hadn't had initial setup.....try all motherboard display ports before fitting gpu.

    Take the gpu out, does it work with onboard display all ports, hdmi svid dvi vga? did you get any post before installing gpu?

    silly question. have you tried using your onboard display to get into your bios? if your onboard display is working, there will be a a PCI setting in bios to swap from onboard to PCIE

    Truthfully, with the next gen AMD GFX cards soon to be....bout £450-£500 possible £600 Max.....resale value is always disappointing unless you keep hold of Z items. That's just my estimate....
