I have a modular psu, but the power cable for the ssd is on a multi ribbon and my case requires that the ssd sits flush against the back. I need to replace the cables with some completely flat ones, but I read that these cables are not interchangeable? Also what is this kind of power cable...

I tired all of those... I tested the psu and it seems to be fine. I removed everything from the motherboard expect the psu cables and it still won't post. Faulty mob?

Fixed it. No matter how many times I reinstalled the drivers I found that the default format had been altered and needed changing back to '24 bit, 44100 Hz'. No idea what changed it.
