honestly, when im doing a build, i just keep one hand touching the case at all times to prevent static. never had an issue and have done several builds

i have the same mobo as well. just wanted to throw that out there

i get spikes into the low to mid 80s on my i7 6700k. from what im told the skylake series runs hot. they have a heat rating for 85c i believe. so sustained temps around there should be ok. i have had no adverse effects.

they have been putting desktop grade GPUs in laptops for almost a year now, if not longer. the temp does get a little warm but in my opinion it would be a better option.

im running a i7 6700k with a r9 390 8gig on a 650 psu. anything around there should be fine

the i5 that i had was obviously being my bottleneck. r9 390 8 gig was running fine. the i5 was running at a constant 100% you will see the bottleneck pretty quick.

i can say i noticed a pretty huge difference playing the division on high with a i5 6500 compared to the i7 6700k that i returned the i5 for. i5 ran it ok i guess on high gfx, but as soon as i put the i7 in, everything is on ultra running anywhere from 60-120 fps. was getting 45-60 on the i5

sorry, just seen the reply. yes i did see a fairly large imrpovement. i went from getting 30-40 fps in the division at 100% cpu load with everything on ultra to 60+ fps ultra, with like 40% cpu usage. i even put a live stream up to see the usage and it only went to like 70% cpu usage while still...

i may try to disable the turbo boost and see if it helps

its sitting at 1.280 right now. so it must me jumping up.

ill load up a game right now and see if the voltage jumps

with the asus b150 aura mobo i cannot change any settings to the voltage

i have an antec three hundred case. and yes the cpu fan is spinning. the two fans in the picture are both exhaust with the two fans in the front of the case (not in the picture) as intake
