Damn, I was hoping I could get a CPU upgrade outta my MOBO... Looks like my best bet right now is to just upgrade my GPU to a RX 5700 XT and then upgrade my MOBO and CPU at the same time in the future.

I should just grab the 5700xt then now and upgrade my CPU later. I'll see more return on games now with the GPU upgrade and can upgrade to a i7-9700k or better later. Would that be your move in this situation?
