Everything worked on memtest86. Matter of fact I tossed in an old 13 8100 and all ram slots worked perfectly with all 4 installed. It is a cpu issue. Disappointed but happy that the issue was solved. Thank you for the response!

Its a Asus z97 pro. I may have just fixed the problem though. In start I typed in Run msconfig boot tab advanced options and the box for "number of cores" was checked and locked at 1. Not sure how or when that happened but I'm now looking at 7% CPU load. Thanks for your time Jimmy!

Under details I show System idle process, jumping between 78 and 92 followed by chrome at between 8 and 11. More concerning, when i set affinity to chrome, which is using the most memory my only 2 options are All processors and CPU 0. As a quad core, shouldn't I have more options available?
