I've just been trying to test something, when I underclock the GPU on msi afterburner it fixes the issue, could this mean its the adapter still? It is rated 200w for the laptop but it isnt the original one.

I have a HP Omen 15 from 2022 which wont charge properly while gaming. If i play games, the ac charger will work for around 5 mins, then disconnect and the laptop runs off battery. To make it charge again i have to unplug the charger from the wall outlet, not just from the laptop, or it won't...
