I didnt think of reassigning the ports! I switched them and then back again and the issue seems to have resolved itself...dont know what was causing it. Thanks.

Yes, there is a top port and a single rear port. The top port has been busted for a long time and ive been using the rear port. The sound only started having issues after purchasing a new montior. I dont know if that matters?
