P5N32-SLI SE Deluxe is it worth buying?

It's a very nice MB. I just built it with dual 7950 GX2's in SLI and a Core 2 Extreme X6800. The graphics are running on an nVidia beta driver and I am experiencing some problems, but I don't think the problems are MB related. Having said that, since you are going to run one 7950 there is no...

    "ferrite" ring

Thanks to all - good responses. The only irritating thing is that there was a bit of truth in what my friend had told me! I hate it when he guesses correctly! Thanks again to all.

    "ferrite" ring

It's in the bag of parts that comes with a new case. It has been referred to as a "ferite" ring, although I don't know if that is the correct term. My friend thinks it should have the case wires go through it that attach to the MB. Noise reducer he called it. None of this makes any sense to me...

    A8N32 SLI Deluxe

My A8N32 had two liquid-cooled 7800GTX's and an X-Fi Extreme Music soundcard between them. Tight fit, but it worked. This was on an open rack. When I put the system into a case I lost the SLI capability due to excessive heat, on the NB I guess. They supply a fan adaptor to use on the NB heatsink...

    A8N-SLI: 2 DIMMS or 4 DIMMS?

The nForce4 chipset defaults to 333 MHz with four sticks. It's a peculiarity with the chipset. If you can set it to 400 MHz and it's stable, cool. I've read that others have had to alter other settings in order to be stable at 400 MHz. I've never done it but maybe someone else can comment on that.

Cannot boot from RAID with A8N32-SLi ?

Also you need to create the RAID array after proper BIOS settings by doing F10 after POST. You may have already done so but it's not clear from your message.

Using SATA 150 drives on an A8N SLI

SATA II (SATA Rev 2.5) is backwards compatible, so your drives will work fine. If you are new to RAID configurations, there is an excellent reply to a posted message titled "I want to run RAID 01" on what is page three of this forum (as I type this). He covers in detail what you need to know to...

A8N32-SLI or A8N-SLI for this system.

A year ago I built an SLI system with two 6600gt's and a 3500+. It was after I built it I realized how silly this was. Buying a premium SLI board and taking it only half way down the road with components. There was no point buying it unless I intended to max its capabilities. There are a lot...
