[SOLVED] Help! Windows setting widescreen to 640x480

Well, I ended up resetting windows and now everything is fine. At first, I thought what you said, but now that it's working after resetting windows, I must have corrupted a file or registry key that I couldn't remove with DDU.

[SOLVED] Help! Windows setting widescreen to 640x480

When I recently moved, my Asus XG35VQ widescreen monitor got cracked, so I ordered another one (same model). The crack affected the left 15% of the screen, so I was using the cracked one until the new one arrived. When it just arrived, I figured I could just swap the monitors out with the...

my rx580 crashing when increasing power limit

Did you ever get this resolved? What fixed it?

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

Got it, thanks for explaining it! Your responses make complete sense. I'm not uncomfortable with a higher power limit, I just wanted to thoroughly understand what I was messing with. And I don't think it's a degraded GPU; I briefly toyed with OCing, but never went high on the voltage beyond...

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

Thanks for the replies. I have a few follow up questions. Is it normal for a card not to hit the max boost clock without increasing the power limit? Like I mentioned in my OP, this seems like something new. I just want to make sure my card isn't dying. I tried undervolting, but couldn't...

Question RX 580 8gb boost clock power limit and undervolt

I'm with kknd2...I just don't get it, and I'm in the same boat. My RX580 (different card than the OP) won't hit boost clocks unless I increase the power limit.

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

I increased the power limit in Afterburner to +50, and it stayed planted at 1430MHz in games. What does that mean?

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

Thanks for the reply, but no, I do not have chill or FRTC enabled. Any other ideas?

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

I repasted it with MX4 and inspected the cooling fins in the process. They appear very clean. The fans are not running to their limits. With the stock fan curve, I can barely hear them (maybe running 30-40% around 76C). I also have tried a custom fan curve in Afterburner that runs them at...

Question Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE default voltages

I'm running a Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE (the blue one) and I'm trying to find the stock voltage/p-state mapping. I toyed around with undervolting a while ago but am pretty sure I set everything back to stock. I'm asking because it's supposed to run at 1430MHz GPU and 2100MHz memory. The memory...

    Question Did Kombustor damage VRMs?

I was curious about how well my fan setup cools the GPU, so installed Kombustor. I usually use Furmark or just play a game, but I figured I'd give Kombustor a try. I was running the test for less than a minute, and my GPU temp was about 73-74, so I quit the program because my temps never get...

Question RX580 using more power but running cooler after repaste

Hmm, the diagnostic light on the UPS doesn't indicate a problem. Oh well, it's a rather new UPS, but I grabbed it because it was on sale at Staples, even though I knew it was slightly underpowered for the amount of stuff I want to plug into it! Thanks for the help!

Question RX580 using more power but running cooler after repaste

Thanks for the reply! I agree and wasn't quite sure what to make of it. But in general, does it make sense for a card, already running at max clocks, to draw more power after repasting? I don't think so. In this case, I think it should draw less, if anything, as the fans wouldn't have to...

Question RX580 using more power but running cooler after repaste

Question/concern: after repasting, GPU drawing more power, but running cooler at same clock speeds. Background: on the never-ending quest for cooler temps with just air cooling, I decided to repaste my Sapphire RX580 Nitro+ SE with MX4. The card has always run at GPU speed of 1430MHz and a...

[SOLVED] Blower fan blows hot air out the front of the card (RX580)?

King_V, thanks for clearing that up for me! Yes, my card has fins length-wise, so even though hot air comes out the front of the card (toward the intake case fans) and not the I/O plate exclusively, at least it's directly in the path of the fans.
