What would be a better buy for a monitor right now for gaming and photo/video editing. I'm on roughly a $1,200 or so budget for a new monitor.

I know that building a PC is the cheapest way to go. I just have a very large Dell gift card and I'm going to use it on an x51. I'm going for the maxed out one from here: http://www.dell.com/us/p/alienware-x51-r2/pd.aspx I'm also going to put a GTX 970 in it. Can this handle the latest games...
