I turned my desktop on today and it started to come on (fans started) and then went off. It repeated this several times, without me pressing the button again. Once it started booting but went off again. Does that sound like a power supply failure? Background: it's a custom-build, made in 2008...

I just pulled the SATA cables off them. Just to make sure I understand - I'll turn off the PC, re-attach the cables to the drives, power-on the PC, and it should work? If that's all it takes, I'll be thrilled! It's installing (endless) updates right now, when it stops I'll try it. Thank you!!
